You know, I think I might actually manage a relatively brief newsletter today!
Hell’s Heart--aka sapphic Moby Dick in space--is now out in the world if you’re in the US and will be out in the world tomorrow (Thursday 12th March) if you’re in the UK.
Expect queerness, kissing, space whales, pirates, adventure, inevitable doom & a whole lot of other good stuff. I can’t tell you how thrilled I am I got to write this book, since I’ve been unhealthily obsessed with Moby Dick since the pandemic. It’s just so damn weird. Like, the bit where they all chase a giant whale who might be a metaphor is, to some extent, the least interesting part of the book.
Also, let me make me very clear, you don’t actually have to read (or care about) Moby Dick to read Hell’s Heart. So please do think about giving it a try if you think you might be interested. (PS, it’s my 30th published book according to Assistant Mary).
The book is available in ebook, hardcover, and audio (narrated by the amazing Charli Anne Delores).

(Fair warning, these are all just me talking about Moby Dick, like, a lot).
Also if, for whatever reason, you do fancy getting back into the OG Moby Dick I really recommend The Moby Dick Big Read. It’s done podcast style, with a different narrator reading every chapter, and every chapter illustrated by a different artist. It’s such a fun way to experience the book. To give you an idea of what to expect, the opening chapter is narrated by Tilda Swinton and, Cassock, the chapter entirely about whale dick, is narrated by John Waters.
